I don’t know what sort of weather system it was, but on Friday it stormed and poured rain for hours. I’m talking like 8 hours of near-constant downpours.

The first casualty of the storms was my Playstation 4. A close and loud blast of lightning caused the power to blip. This short lost of power and networking seems to kill my video toy machine. (Days later I did manage to fix the playstation by taking the harddrive out and restarting the thing).
As I was coming home from my Mom’s, I saw that parts of the neighborhood were flooded. The town had some trucks out blocking the roads. Luckily, or so I thought, for me, they were not blocking the road to the house. I noticed that the street was a bit flooded. It must not be to bad. I drove into the puddle. It wasn’t a puddle. The water slammed into my car and started to creep up the hood. I powered through the flood and emerged victorious on the other side.
The next day as I drove around a heard a scraping sound when I hit a bump. I assumed I had got a branch or something stuck under there during my drive through the flooding. When I finally got down on my belly and looked under the car. There was a thick piece of plastic hanging down low enough to hit when I went over a bump. It appeared to have been ripped out of place when I drove through the flood.
I drove the car up on some ramps and took the plastic piece off when I removed the screws holding it up. It seems good enough to put back though one of the screws is missing. I don’t see what the point of this under engine plastic is. You have to take it off anytime you need to change the oil or work on the engine.
